OUR VETERINARY SERVICES
Avondale Veterinary Healthcare Complex is a full-service hospital and wellness center for your pets. At the forefront of technology, we provide physical diagnostic exams, vaccinations, surgery, pet pharmacy, and a full range of laboratory services.
We recognize that pets are important members of your family. We believe that keeping your pet healthy and happy not only benefits your pet, but benefits your family as well.
Our doctors and staff are here to help ensure that your pet enjoys the very best quality of life, and that your pet companions live the longest and healthiest life possible.
Physical Examination
We believe the best approach to your pet's health care is to stop problems before they start. Proper care of your pet is the easiest and best way to keep him happy and healthy. At Avondale Veterinary Healthcare Complex, we provide a nose to toes exam for all of our clients' pets.
A complete veterinary examination includes:
Avondale Veterinary Healthcare Complex contains a complete veterinary hospital.
All routine veterinary procedures and treatments are available, including orthopedic surgery, oncology, chemotherapy, MetRx imaging, and a senior wellness program for older pets.
We recommend a complete physical exam for your pet on a yearly basis. Lots of changes can occur from year to year, especially as your pet gets older.
Preventative health care recommendations are made based on examination findings and your pet’s individual needs and situation, which you help us to determine. This may include blood, urine, or fecal tests, vaccinations, dietary or exercise advice, and life-style changes.
Veterinary Surgery
Our Veterinarians are trained in the latest techniques should your pet require a surgical procedure. We offer a full range of soft tissue surgeries which include routine spays and neuters, tumor removal, biopsies, and more advanced procedures such as hip surgery, bone grafts and obstruction removal.
We also offer LASER SURGERY which can provide your pet with many advantages including less swelling, faster healing, and less pain.

EKG & Pulse Oximetry
Our EKG and Pulse Oximetry equipment provides intensive patient monitoring of your pet's heart rate and vital signs to better determine how well your pet is responding to treatment during surgical procedures. We also offer gas anesthesia, injectable/reversible anesthesia blood pressure monitoring, fluid therapy and "Breathe Safe III".
Digital X-ray
Digital X-rays of your pet are taken using the same positions as non-digital x-rays, however instead of using film and chemicals, as in the past, we can now process your pet's X-ray directly onto our computer screen using digital technology. What this means for you and your pet is that we can produce a much better quality X-ray image, giving us a much clearer image of the bones and soft tissue. Digital X-ray allows us to see far more detail than we ever could before on a standard x-ray, making diagnosis of particular problems much quicker and easier.
Veterinary Ultrasound
Our veterinary ultrasound allows the doctors to examine your pet without invasive or painful procedures. This pain free, non-stressful procedure assists the doctor in diagnosing abdominal, cardiac, urinary, cervical, and many other problems your pet may be experiencing. Veterinary ultrasound can determine if your pet is pregnant and can help with pregnancy problems or complications. Veterinary ultrasound also helps the doctor in establishing a diagnosis and treatment plan to keep your pet happy and healthy for life.
On-Site Laboratory
Our in-house veterinary laboratory features diagnostic testing for the following:
Ear Infections
Chronic ear infections can be a sign of a deeper problem. If your pet suffers from recurrent ear infections, we'll examine your pet's ears and prescribe a treatment plan to help make your pet more comfortable.
At Avondale Veterinary Healthcare Complex, we offer ear flushing procedures, and treatment for conditions such as ear mites, ear infections and chronic ear problems.
Older Pets
As your pet ages, it's important to recognize that pets suffer from many of the same conditions as aging humans. Avondale Veterinary Healthcare Complex offers care for your older pets including treatment for dementia, cognitive dysfunction, and senility. We will also advise you regarding special diets for geriatric pets, together with counseling and treatment for conditions such as arthritis, diabetes, and other age related problems your pet may be experiencing.
Vaccinations
Vaccinating your pets against disease is one of the most important aspects of pet health care. Proper vaccination can spare your pets from such potentially deadly diseases as rabies, distemper and feline leukemia. Vaccinations must be re-administered periodically to protect your pets from diseases and keep them healthy for a lifetime.
Convenient Appointments
We'll be happy to make an appointment for you and your pet at your convenience. We offer early drop off and all day care if needed to fit into your busy schedule.
We're here to answer all your questions and to serve all of your Veterinary needs.
